…before my much needed nap.

Last night was no homework night. After three to four days of just catching up I’m finally back in the game so I decided to celebrate. I was already starting to get ready to head to Becky’s when ToBeNamed texted and asked to meet for Rum and Coke’s so I said yes and hauled a** to pick Becky and Jacob up. We went to the Pumphouse which was pretty packed with the YPW event taking place. We sat and talked and the hours flew by and pretty soon it’s 9:30pm and ToBeNamed‘s bribing all of us with food to look at his soon to be new house. We got to ride “the transformer” truck and ToBeNamed tried to locate a Taco Shop for Jacob. We couldn’t find one and settled for Taco Bell. We toured his house and finished our food and ToBeNamed drove us back downtown to my car. It was a fun night, much more fun than it sounds but that’s only because I’m seriously lacking sleep right now.

The background: ToBeNamed graduated from Maize went to KU got a Mechanical? Engineering degree, now he owns an engineering and design business? and is currently contracting for Spirit? (The question marks are because I’m not sure, it was loud last night and anything about engineering is already blase to me.) He likes to sail and travel and will randomly ask people he just met to sail or travel with him. He asked if I could go to Vegas in two weeks and I just seriously thought, “Who hired you? And why do they want me dead?” Hahahahahahaha! But he’s really sweet, personable and funny so I did agree to eat dinner with him Saturday. It should be fun, and of course I will be blogging about it.

That’s all for now really, I’m seriously tired and hungry. ToBeNamed sent me a text asking me to come by and I really wanted to but I didn’t want to rush or much worse not study. So instead he asked me to check out Ashley Furniture’s website for the bedroom set he’s thinking of buying. Oh yeah, somehow I became the unofficial go to person for house stuff, how does that happen? Anyway he’s closing on the house Friday so there’s another subject I won’t be getting rid of anytime soon =D

Who Says I Don’t Know How To Relax…

It’s 9:51pm and I’m all done with school work! I can honestly say I’m caught up and will not need to stress anymore! Woohoo! (Thanks, Dad for all your help!) So, now I’m relaxing…okay maybe not now. Tomorrow I might end up working some overtime instead of going to the fair because we are way behind and have a quota for the end of the year. Besides I love my job and I never say no to money, it just seems like a no brainer. Thursday I was invited to dinner and someone mentioned Yia Yia’s (actually he spelled it Ya Ya’s but unless there’s a new restaurant in town I don’t know about I think I’m safe to assume he meant the other place,) unfortunately I got called by the Derby Reporter regarding the interview about my book and they wanted me to come in to take pictures for the article so that’s what I’ll be doing then. I was going to drive off to the Kansas City sunset this weekend but I think Kansas City has driven to see me so Friday I’ll be in town out and about. Saturday I’m saving for a certain somebody hoping they don’t end up sick again. Of course, during the days I will still be studying so please hold off on the calls and txts, or atleast slow them down. Mr. Trouble has already bumped my text package from 400 to 1000 this month, F-ing DISTRACTION! Hahahahahahahaha! And that’s it. Off to bed for the most relaxing of all ventures…sleep!

I loved this song when it first came out years ago, and I kept thinking “That’s me.” This blog it’s not as much for the sing along moment as a non subtle message to all the guys interested. There’s not a single word in this song you can take forgranted, everything pertains to me and what I want. Read it, learn it, live it or get out of the way. I have set a lot of goals in my life and a lot of things are FINALLY falling into place. I love being single, I love the freedom, and I’m not about to trade in for anything less than what I deserve. I’m not going to add a stressful relationship in my list of things to take care of.

This past week has been amazing when it comes to reconnecting with old friends and meeting new friends. I finally got all caught up with school, I’m starting to get recognized at work as someone who deserves to be there, there’s really not much left I can complain about. I thought about this song and figured I’m only looking for one more thing before I die, but since I’m not planning on dying soon I’ll go ahead and wait for just the right guy. And looking forward to that moment I just can’t help but smile.

It is freakin’ twilight zone over here. What happened? Did I accidentally swallow some Love Potion #9 last night with my drinks? Are you guys trying to punk me? Just because I said I wanted to meet guys doesn’t mean you have to send every male and their neighbor my way…really you’re too kind. I seriously don’t know how I wake up to all these feakin’ messages. It’s like a press release was sent out or a paper ad that says “now hiring.” I think maybe I’ll sleep some more =D

Just a quick blog before I dive into bed for a much needed nap.

Last night was most stimulating. Becky made me pizza for dinner – thank you Becky! Then she and I went to The Pumphouse where we met Jimbo and Austin. We played a couple games of pool and I lost both times =( Atleast I’m honest and I’m not leaving that out. I’m giving props.

After awhile we headed down to Liquid where Heather and her friends were. It was pretty “cozy,” we got to chill on the couches and make fun of each other. (Side note: Dear Becky, I pee’d again after I got home, I seriously don’t know what was going on last night, but I am intrigued by that one guy, and the girl was full of you know what, and I think this is an easy catch, so dare me and I’m on it – pun intended. LOL!)

Ah, I’m so funny. I had a quick chat with Unknown on my way home just to check in and hear his voice I guess. Today flew by at work and now I’m home. I plan on doing tons of homework and maybe get ahead since I will start some volunteer jobs through work pretty soon. Of course, I do want to take a quick nap first. Last night I slept like I’ve never slept before and I kinda felt robbed having to wake up so early, so I’m going to catch up with Gertrude (my pillow) and check in with y’all later.

So The News Is..

I’ve already advised most of you (my friends) of the break up situation. I know most of you laughed and I think I choked on my chambord and pineapple last night laughing with you, but it is (regardless of all the jokes) a serious matter. And it’s a very hard situation to be in, realizing I went through a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety and still am. I just spent a good part of my after work moments editing this blog because Mr. Ex wanted everything that referred to him out of this site, as if anyone really knows who he is or cares. (Not being catty it’s true, half of my friends have never seen him before even after two and a half years.) Anyway, I got most of that accomplished, enough to bring the site back up again.

Not a lot to report really. For the most part time, energy and effort is all that’s been lost. This time around I’ve managed not to let my school work suffer, and have resisted the temptation to call in from work to stay home and sulk. Actually, there wasn’t any temptation all due to my unexpected surprise.

Surprise, I have a lot of friends that care about me. I do want to thank everyone for the support and well wishes. A couple I can’t mention but you know who you are, some I would mention but I’m sure you’d rather I not =) It is very fortunate that this all took place while my friend Becky was in town. She has shown her support during and after the relationship. I called her up last night to eat dinner with me and a couple of friends at Buffalo Wild Wings, and on my way to her house I decided on a whim to text unknown. I got a response and it was definitely more than I expected or deserved.

The background story. Unknown and I have a bit of history but unfortunately I blew him off because Mr. Ex told me to. That was my mistake, but I thought it was a sacrifice I was making to salvage the relationship. After all that you would think the person you sacrificed would write you off as another dumb flake, but for some reason that didn’t happen. He has truly been my own personal saving grace. He’s been there for me several times already, just absolutely sweet, funny, and he managed to keep me entertained during work today with random text messages.

Honestly, outside of all the times I’ve needed Unknown I never got a chance to know him better. I think maybe this time I’ll stick around and make sure I’m there when he ever needs someone. I do owe him, don’t I? Besides, he has my dog…LOL!

Anyway, this was going to be a short blog. I have quite a bit more homework to do before I go out tonight. One of my friends is celebrating her birthday at Liquid and I think Becky and I planned on hitting a couple spots before that.

Early Saturday Ventures

For those that have not heard, my friend Becky is in town from Memphis doing her externship at the Shea’s. I’m still debating letting her do my eye exam, (she might not be as gentle since she knows me,) but until then we’ve managed to still see each other outside our jobs. This morning we met at the Farm and Art Market downtown. I got away with some goodies: cinnamon swirl bread, salsa, an oatmeal cookie with walnuts and cranberries that I started eating while walking about, and a baby bracelet for my friend Ashley who is due to give birth sometime this month. Fun stuff! When I lived downtown I used to walk around to look at stuff, and found the best salsa ever. The best because when they say it’s hot, it’s HOT! It’s not like the wimpy salsa they serve you in the restaurants. Anyway, there’s still time to go to one before they shut down for the winter, so hurry.

Becky and I decided to stop by the Perk afterwards to get some coffee. It was a nice visit back to an old hang out but I had two run-ins with the creepy which reminded me why I stopped going.

Today was my last day before this very long and hopefully relaxing weekend. Ahhh! I’ve already done most of my chores (i.e. dishes, laundry, cleaned kitchen and bathroom and thrown out the trash) and I’m planning on sleeping in tomorrow, and enjoying the next couple of days just sitting back, relaxing. After all, I deserve it.

I zoomed in closer and found that guy hanging outside the building. Maybe he cleans the windows, maybe he’s checking the structure, who knows. But he sure was way up there, wasn’t he?

All caught up with schoolwork. Woohoo! I sit and celebrate with Martini & Rossi – BFF for life, okay? I am looking forward to a good night’s rest and tomorrow after work I will be kidnapping Becky and taking her to the Pumphouse maybe.

For now I want to introduce everyone to Betha. My house plant. Everyone, including the Dillon’s “plant” guy says these plants have a short life span but Lookie! she is still alive.

We’ve had a couple scares already. First, around the third month when she started getting taller than what the specs label said she should be she started leaning. I guessed it was because she was attracted to the light coming from the window. I got a skewer stick and stuck it beside her to keep her growing straighter but soon enough she got taller than the skewer stick. Then after I started classes I sorta forgot to water her and she started drying up. I stuck her under the faucet and almost broke the top bloom. I secured it with a string for the night and the next day she was good as new. So a little bit of care, we’re still in business.

BTW, I named her Betha which is a name of Celtic origin meaning life. Just because she has lasted so long. Her normal life expectancy would only have been a month or two, and here we are going on 4 months. I would be happy if she makes it through the winter season.

So guess what we did…
